LIVE VOLCANO DAYTROTTER RECORDING

Daytrotter is a cozy little studio in Rock Island that's managed to record thousands of great bands in the last six years, releasing some 17 new live recordings each week, each with a nice little homespun illustration & clever write-up. We like Daytrotter and its horse head insignia, and we were delighted to recently record a session there, which was just released.

Check out our live performances of Piñata, Fighter, Long Gone, and So Many Lemons here. Their membership is a worthwhile $2/month, but you can get a 2-week free trial to hear our performance and sample their thousands of other live recordings.

FINAL PRE-HIATUS VOLCANO SHOWS

How will 2013 live volcano stack up against 2006 volcano (depicted above)?

THURSDAY, 1/10/13 - CHICAGO, IL

THE BURLINGTON

3425 W Fullerton
Chicago, Illinois 60647

Doors @ 9 P.M.
with Bastardgeist

Join us for perhaps our final Chicago show of 2013, as we prepare to send Synthman Mark off to study etiquette or some other BS in London.

Come so you can wish us luck in our difficult year of long distance bandship, and if you've succeeded in long-distance relationships in the past, we are looking for tips on how to "keep the oven warm". What is the appropriate communication cadence to stay relevant in each other's lives without being overbearing? How do we set expectations now if we want to use this opportunity to play in other bands? How do you sexy skype? We are looking for answers, and will field your answers between classic volcano songs.

Just in case Mark becomes a UK prince and stays over there, we'll play some forgotten oldies. But that couldn't happen, could it?

Doors at 9pm.
Bastardgeist opens. Though there's talk maybe of a 3rd band.

CONCLUSION OF "SEED TO FLOWER THURSDAYS WITH VOLCANO" and RECORD RELEASE.

Last Thursday concluded our "Seed to Flower Thursdays with volcano!" web series which demonstrated that songs are like flowers birthed from seeds. Now we take the time to demonstrate that seeds are like babies; they flower and turn into beautiful adults in their own right. Today volcano! stand as empty-nesters, our album, Piñata, fleeing our comfortable home to live on the streets and consort with strangers. You can pick it up at your friendly local record store, or an impersonal online store, or itunes, or from our bandcamp page. It's streaming there right now!
